The Return of the @lpgrp Factory Records Vote

Greetings all...

December's @lpgrp session's theme will be Factory Records.

Factory Records, as all music lovers will know, is the independent record label set up by Tony Wilson and Alan Erasmus in 1978.

There's obviously a finite number of albums on Factory so we shall make this a straight vote this month - with no nominations. Treat, if you will, the Factory Records back catalogue as your shortlist. This seems to be a definitive list of albums released on Factory. And the Rate Your Music site has a list of Factory releases too.

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division 'won' the first ever @lpgrp poll - and is therefore disqualified.

Please send me the titles of your TWO favourite Factory releases by 6pm, Wednesday 13th November. Either send me a DM or an ordinary tweet (mentioning @lpgrp) with your choices.

The Factory Records listening session will be 9pm, Sunday 1st December.

Evening all, calling.

& I have hatched a plan for followers for a sort of 'Secret Santa' type exchange of music. We propose that @lpgrpers compile a CD of their favourite tracks new to them in 2013. Pre-2013 stuff is fine as long as you first heard it this year. Then, like a magic FA Cup draw, you'll be paired with another participant and you'll exchange your CDs, by post or meet up if you feel like it. Those details can be finalised later but register your interest to or and start thinking of your favourite 15 tracks from 2013.

To recap, 15 favourite tracks new to you during 2013 onto a CD. Register interest with who'll let you know your pairing. CDs to be dispatched on December 10th.
